About Me

It is my sincere belief that we all grow and change within the context of our relationships. Giving and experiencing love is our highest purpose in life. Relationships offer us the opportunity to grow into the person we are meant to be.

Due to our busy lifestyles, our family history, and a lack of relationship skills, it is easy to fall into patterns that do not lift our relationships to the level that we desire.  Conflict and miscommunication often get in the way of our fullest experience in the relationship.   We may feel like giving up.

I specialize in working with couples from a family systems perspective.  My years of experience offering family therapy have sparked a passion in me to work with couples and families to develop compassionate relationships with one another.

My many years of experience providing clinical and administrative leadership to mental health and child welfare programs in both Pennsylvania and Maryland have exposed me to hundreds of families in distress.  In private practice for over five years, I see a broad spectrum of clients. My areas of expertise include working with couples struggling with relationship and/or sexual issues,  sex and love addiction,  trauma and abuse,  adolescents and women in mid-life.

As a military spouse for over 20 years, I am particularly interested in serving military families.  Their unique struggles include the stress of frequent separations and relocations and the effects of combat on family members.

With a practical, interactive, and compassionate approach to therapy, I strive to  provide empathy,  support and honest feedback to help you resolve current problems and change long-standing patterns. I will incorporate a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, depending on what will be most helpful to you.  My ultimate goal is to help you build on your strengths so that you may achieve satisfaction in your relationships.
